The Galway Ramblers, as the name might suggest, are from Galway, Ireland. They like it there! In fact, some of them like it there so much, they were born there. Others of the band just drifted there and thought, "I like it here", so they stayed too.

Time passed and they began to meet in the fine music establishments of Galway, such as the Crane Bar and Cooke's Thatch Bar. They started playing music together, which is a fairly common pastime for musicians in Ireland. After a time one of them said, "Let's start a band", and the others said, "That's a great idea", so they did!

As the band was formed from the sessions of Galway, they decided to try and recreate the feeling of an authentic Irish Traditional Session for their audience. They seem to have been successful at this venture so far, but don't just take our word for it.
